yes it is. the day when all the driver’s roatate, in all it’s glory. luckily i needed to purchase a pass for my breeze card so i a spared the disaster that i am sure woulde have befallen me on the #9 this morning. the neighbor though, told me that the driver drove right past him and he had to yell at her to get her to stop.
i am sitting here on the very cold #140 and we have a new driver on this bus as well. some poor white dude, clearly doing the marta gig for the first time, got on the bus and asked the driver if he went by georgia state. he was befuddled as most would be by the fact that the #140 is in fact two distinct bus routes, one going up north point and around brookside and one going up haynes bridge into downtown alpharetta.
the funny thing is he asked the driver and the driver told him, get this, he didn’t know. he told the poor guy, who looked atrociously lost, that he would know if he went by georgia state when he got there.
poor kid boarded the bus and asked me and i was able to clue him.
clearly there are multiple flaws in this system, starting with the fact that the driver has never driven the route before. apparently this works for marta but i still wonder about it. second, and another pet peeve of mine, why is the #140 clearly two different bus routers. why not just eliminate confustion and give the haynes bridge routing a new number?
speaking of pet peeves when this bus pulled up the reader board read “Simspon Road/West Lake Station.”
hah. i’d love to ride that route. oh and clearly no one has told marta that that street is no longer called simpson road.
just sayin’
