i love marta. i won’t be changing my tune either based on the content of this post, but some days it is just too much to take. the girl sitting near me on the train who just got off of the same bus from hell that i did, just exclaimed, “thank you jesus.”
to which i say, “amen.”
it started with the bus driver being late by about 6 minutes. big deal, you might think, but during rush hour, on a bus route that goes by the mall a 6 minute delay can be fatal. and in this regard it was.
beyond the lateness two of the t.e.a.c.h. kids were in the back of the bus listening to rap music at ear shattering volume through the speakers of one of the kids’ laptops. we all know my opinion on that. and of course the bus got more crowded and more crowded.
by the time we got to mansell we were stuck in mall traffic and we didn’t move for 15 minutes. i ended up sitting next to a 300 pound dude who jabbed his elbow into my side. as we sat there not moving more and more people boarded the bus. the driver had the heater cranked up to 6 billion degrees so with all those people the temp on that bus was approaching the surface of the sun.
of course we got to north spring 30 minutes late and i am going to miss my connection at five points off of my already late deaprture from the office (poor doggies)
to top it all off the people in front of me were talking about “a universal currency and the new world order.”
sigh.
well as sam elliot says in the big lebowski, “some days you eat tha bahr,”
to which i would add, and somedays the #140 eats you.
