it’s always weird getting back on the marta after a week off. remembering to get up at 5:15, waiting at the bus stop, remembering to log my commute with the commuter rewards program, which, btw, after two straight months of winning a $25 gift card i finally did not procure for last month, etc.
all was well though this morning, but the #140 was packed. i have really never seen it so packed. ALL of the regulars (except dreads 1 and ice cube were on it) the t.e.a.c.h. kids, as well as several people i have never seen before, including a new white dude (yup, you guessed it, nwd.) in fact it was so crowded that bwd decided to take a pass and wait for the 8:00 bus, because i saw him standing on the curb as we pulled away.
he probably made the right call. my headphones busted on me and my blackberry died, so i stood with nothing to read an no music listening to the t.e.a.c.h. kids scream.
maybe we need every :!5 service now on the #140. that would be a nice problem to have.
well at least marta is getting a new coo. maybe he’ll read this space?
James – I’m probably the very last person on Earth to experience this but I had to tell you if you don’t already know. Your not on busted headphones made me think of it. Yesterday I was flying back from Amsterdam and tried the Bose noise cancellation head phones, using them to listen to my iTunes. Oh. Holy. Cow. It was like I was listening to the music for the first time. If you are on the market for head phones, try them – or something like them.
